Mary Lou Patmore, 70 was born in Olive Hill, KY Sep. 12 1948 to Maude Whaletta Hale & Martin Van Buren Waulk. She went to be with the lord on April 1, 2019 at home surrounded by her friends & family.
Mary Lou married Jimmy Wilburn in 1966 & had three children, Mary Lynn, Melissa, & Jim.
Mary Lou was a native of Ohio & moved to Florida in 1985. She was a self taught musician & singer who wrote & recorded country music & gospel in Ohio, Al & Fl. She partnered with her brother Van playing gigs, opened for George Jones & played at the famous Bluebird & Tootsies in Nashville, TN. She cherished spending time with friends & family, traveling, horse backriding, flipping homes, cooking & was an avid Christian lady.
Mary Lou became an entrepreneur opening her own businesses; Christian Book Store, Seaport Realty, That Ole Ice Cream & Coffee Shoppe. Later in life, she became an author under her pen name Whaletta Hale & as herself.
She is survived by her ex husband; Jimmy C. Wilburn; daughter Mary Lynn Standfield (husband Brad), daughter Melissa McKnight; son Jimmy L. Wilburn. Two grandchildren, Bradley Standfield (wife Alicia), Erica Cook (husband Dustin), one great grandchild Angel Leigh, Sister; Blanche Cox & Brother; Jack Waulk, & multiple nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death with her parents; Maude & Martin Van Buren Waulk, Brothers; Van Buren Waulk, James Claude (Jimmy), Sister; Ethel Potts.
Services are to be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2pm at the First Assembly Church of God in Carrabelle, Fl with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a private viewing 1pm to 1:30pm for family.
