On the morning of July 3, 2024, Major Robert “Bob” Sherllie Boyd, Husband of 68 years, Father, B'daddy, Forester, Jack of all Trades, passed from his earthly body. Bob was born on May 27, 1933, to John R. and Mable Page Boyd. After graduating with a degree in Forestry from Mississippi State University and a stint in the United States Army, he and his bride, Joanne Boyd, settled in Florida to raise a family as he practiced Forestry. Bob spent his life impacting countless lives. Bob was an Eagle Scout and lived a life of volunteering within the Boy Scouts and many other places where he could be a positive role model for young people. Bob was the father to Marcella Donahue, the late Alison Boyd, Shannon Boyd and Robert Boyd. He was blessed to be called B'daddy by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. As a family, we would like to thank everyone that was a part of his adventure, due to this, he was able to live life to the fullest! The family celebrated his life the evening of July 6, 2024. For anyone that would like to honor his life, the family asks that donations be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Big Bend Hospice as they brought him and his family so much comfort during his journey home.
