Obituary for Matthew DeMark "Mark" Presnell
MATTHEW DEMARK PRESNELL
Matthew DeMark Presnell, affectionately known by many of his friends and family as Mark Sean, age 61, unexpectedly entered into rest in the early morning hours of August 14, 2020.
On a cold morning, December 10, 1958, Matthew was born in Quincy, Florida and became a lifetime resident. He was retired from The Seargent of Arms Office, with 36 years, with the Florida Legislature as the Key Master.
Matthew was proceeded in death by his father, William “Bill” Hartford Presnell, Sr., his mother, Mattie Boyer Presnell, his brother William Hartford Presnell, Jr., and his baby brother Kenneth W. Presnell. He is survived by his half- sister, Jennifer Presnell Hamilton of Ft Valley, Georgia, his Uncle Buck Boyer of Central Florida, and most of all the love of his life, Jenny Bomareto.
Matthew grew up answering to two names, as he was affectionately nicked named Mark Sean, by his Aunts, Grace Presnell Moylan and Marjorie Presnell Carnley. He came from a very large family which included 3 Aunts and 7 Uncles and all those 1st cousins from his father’s side of his family. We will miss our “lil cuz”. For the first time in his life, Matthew is in no pain, physically or mentally. He is finally at rest and he now has his eyesight back. Something that we all take for granted. He has finally met the brothers that he never knew.
Matthew had two special people in his life that loved him very much. The family wishes to thank Marie Kearse for all of her loving help during this very hard time and insights into his very personal life.
Funeral Services will be held graveside at the Old Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 10:00 AM, with the Rev Aaron Ankeny of the Centenary Methodist Church officiating, Friday, August 21, 2020. They have asked that everyone arrive a little early in order to get the services started at 10AM. Members of the family have Cancer and do not wish to share their germs with you or vice versa, therefore, Covid Rules and Regulations do apply. Please wear a face mask and maintain 6 foot distancing.
In lieu of Flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Matthews name in honor of his brother, William Hartford Presnell, Jr.
