.William Walton (Billy) Massey, II, peacefully transitioned from this Earth to his heavenly home on November 6, 2024, after a brief stay at the Margaret Dozier House of Big Bend Hospice. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Billy was born February 12, 1941, to Dr. Lloyd Massey and Mary Wyatt Massey of Quincy, FL. He was a graduate of Quincy High School and Emory University, where he became a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Billy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Emory University (1963), and later graduated Florida State University with a Master of Arts Degree (1964). He continued to pursue his education with a Doctor of Philosophy in both Conflict Management (2003) and Theology (2011). Billy was a Mason and a long-time devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee.
Billy is survived by his wife, Christine Massey, his sons, William Walton (Gil) Massey, III, Lester Lloyd (Les) Massey, and Jason Edward Massey and spouse, Melinda, and his daughter, Mary Charlotte Sullivan and spouse, Jeremy. He is also survived by his brother, James Lloyd Massey, his sister, Mary Martha Massey Embry, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery.
