Obituary for William Green Lee
William Green Lee, 68, of Georgetown, Exuma, Bahamas, and Sawdust, Florida, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Big Bend Hospice House, Tallahassee, Florida, following a courageous struggle against cancer. Born March 22, 1947, to David and Elsie Lee, Bill graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1965. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry in 1969. He graduated from the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, Virginia, in 1973 as Doctor of Dental Surgery. He practiced dentistry in West Palm Beach, Florida, for several years and then moved to Richmond to serve as a Professor at VCU School of Dentistry. Bill moved to Georgetown, Exuma, Bahamas, in 1983 and served as the Dental Officer for the Bahamian Government, from which he retired in 2009. He is survived by his son, Matthew W. Lee and his wife Samantha, of Washington, D.C. and his daughter, Mary Robin Lee Cribb and her husband, Scott, and their two children, Garrett and Daisy, of Whiteville, North Carolina; his brother Bob Lee and his wife Marshall of Quincy, Florida; his sister Mary Jo Butler and her husband Virgil of Quincy, Florida; his sister-in- law, Kaye Lee of Beaufort, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by friends and family in the Exuma community. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David A. Lee. In celebration of his life, memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at Woodland Presbyterian Church, Quincy, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Bill's memory may be made to your local humane society, the ASPCA, or Big Bend Hospice House, Tallahassee, Florida.
