Obituary for William Arthur Maxwell, Sr.
Maxwell, William Arthur, 90, of Chattahoochee, FL died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Big Bend Hospice House of Tallahassee, FL. He was born in Reno, GA to Jesse Newton Maxwell and Polly Cordelia Roberts Maxwell.

Mr. Maxwell retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of Master Sargent after 20 years of service to his country. He also retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a Vocational Instructor teaching Heating and Air Conditioning.

Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Sunday Maxwell, two daughters, Karen Kinser (David) and Kelly Porritt, one son William A. Maxwell, Jr. (Colleen). Two granddaughters, Amy Johnson (Chris), Mary Beth Henderson, one grandson, Zachary Porritt, four great-granddaughters, Makayla Dykes, Mya Parr, Madison Johnson and Haleigh Johnson, one great grandson, Ayden Parr. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Van Johnson, one sister-in-law, Louise Maxwell, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Maxwell was predeceased by one daughter, Shannon Leigh Maxwell, his parents, Jesse Newton and Polly Cordelia Maxwell, two sisters, Sarah Bell Davis (Eason), Angie Lois May (Jimmy), three brothers, Thomas Subers Maxwell (Hazel), Jesse Wyeth Maxwell, Cecil Sherwood Maxwell (Rebecca), Mother-in-law, Myrtice Sunday, two brothers-in-law, Ralph Jackson and Phillip Clark.

Visitation and services will be held at Old Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Chattahoochee, FL with visitation Monday, 11/04/2019 at 5:00 p.m. and service Tuesday, 11/05/2019 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
