Obituary for Verna Dawson McClellan Whittle
Verna Dawson McClellan Whittle Sycamore- Mrs. Verna Dawson McClellan Whittle, 92 passed June 14, 2014 in Blountstown, Fl. She was born Oct. 4, 1921 in Clarksville, Fl. to William Henry and Minneola Fowler Dawson. She was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and was retired from the Department of Agriculture. Visitation will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, 6-17-2014 at Sycamore United Methodist Church with service to be 11:00 AM Tuesday, 6-17-2014, at the Sycamore United Methodist Church with interment at the Sycamore Cemetery. She was predeceased by her parents and husbands, Rivers W. "Doc" McClellan and Otho W. Whittle, sister Jerelene Dawson Berry. Brothers, Richard and W.H. "Jr." Dawson, Granddaughter Christy Harrell Monk and very special friends, Dr. Mable Jean Morrison, Omie Dean and Pauline Shepard. She is survived by: Children and their spouses: Kay and Kenneth Whiddon of Quincy, Fl., Patsy and David Harrell of Homerville, Ga, Charles and Barbara McClellan of Quincy Fl., Henry and Moiya McClellan of Thomasville, Ga. and Mark and Melanie McClellan of Sycamore Fl., sisters Estelle Reeder of Clarksville, Fl. and Cleo (Rev. Freeman) Allen of Cairo, Ga., very special brothers-in-law W. O. Whittle of Quincy, Fl. and Hershell Whittle of Tallahassee, Fl. and sisters-in-laws Betty Nell Butler of Thomasville, Ga. and Rusty Whittle of Tallahassee Fl.. 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
