Velma O'neal beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. She was 86 years old.
Born March 29, 1938, in Gadsden County, Florida. Velma eventually settled in Carrabelle, Fl, where she built a life filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories. She was the devoted wife of Dewey O'Neal for 43 years and the proud mother of 5 children: Ronald O'neal of Arkansas, Sandra Campbell of Carrabelle, Florida ,Janice Jackson(The late David Jackson of Carrabelle, Florida), Carol Morris (Ronnie Morris of Perry, Florida), Belinda Herndon(James Herndon of Greenville, Florida)
Velma was proud to love all of her grandchildren. She has 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Velma was also precided in death by the late Tommy Jack Massey.
Velma's family was her greatest source of happiness and inspiration.
Velma was an operating room technician at the Carrabelle Hospital. She managed the Jr. Food Store and Suwanee Swifty Store. Beyond her professional endeavors, Velma had a zest for life and a diverse range of interests. She enjoyed fishing, expressing her love by cooking, and finding delight in spending quality time with her family. Velma had a passion for gardening.
Velma was the caretaker of her late mother, Dora Parramore, until she passed away at the age 105 years old.
Services will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Carrabelle. Viewing for family will be held at 1:00 pm services at 2:00 pm and graveside to follow at Evergreen Cemetery .
Fellowship and food will follow graveside service at First Baptist Church of Carrabelle.
Pastor Phil Davis will be officiating the service in Carrabelle Fl.
Velma O'Neal touched the lives of many through her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
