Obituary for Tommy Joe Hodges
Tommy Joe Hodges, 72, of Chattahoochee, FL passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 following a brief illness. He was born March 8, 1949 in Dothan, AL. Tommy was an active follower of Christ and attended Old Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Tommy retired from Florida State Hospital as a security officer in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Bessie Lee Hodges, grandfather Joseph Henry Hodges, and a son Charles Edward Hodges. He is survived by his wife, Verdie Hodges, three children; James Edward (“Buddy”) Hodges, Patricia Ann Sunday (Jessie), and Cynthia Dianne Hodges (Benny Gilley), 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 23 at Old Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 6420 Blue Star Memorial Hwy, Chattahoochee, FL 32324 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
