Tommy Edward Hosey passed away on April 18, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida. Tommy was 77 years old and the youngest child of William (B.H.) Hosey and Bertha Lee Hosey of Iron City, Georgia. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include his partner and caregiver, Linda A. Hodges, his precious Yorkie, Mazee Mae, a son, Zackery Duncan Hosey (Elisa), grandson, Finnley D. Hosey of Athens, Georgia, stepson, Kenneth R. Chuites (Lisa) of Bainbridge, Georgia, granddaughter, Danielle L. Chuites (Michael) of Quincy, Florida, sister, Betty Askew of Bainbridge, Georgia, and two sisters-in-law, Loura Hosey and Sarah Hosey.
Tommy served in the U.S. Air Force Tactical Air Command unit during the Vietnam war and rose to the status of Staff Sergeant. He worked for the State of Florida and retired from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in 2005. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling, visiting with his family members, vacations at St. George Island, having a good conversation with everyone (he never met a stranger), dining on good food with friends, fishing, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time and spoiling both of his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL., on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 2-3:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM.
