Terri Velena Polous, age 62, was born on September 25, 1963, and passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by love, and gained her heavenly wings.
She faced her journey with quiet strength and courage, never losing her grace along the way. Terri was a country girl at heart and most comfortable in her flannel shirts and jeans, living life simply and authentically. She especially loved her dogs, Teddy and Princess, who brought her constant comfort and companionship.
Terri didn’t need fancy things—she valued family, faith, and the people (and pups) she loved. Those who knew her will remember her strength, her kindness, and the steady love she gave so freely.
Terri was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Shiver.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard E. Polous Jr. and Benjamin Paul Polous; her beloved nieces, Christie Nicole Kellogg (Jerome Kellogg) and Sienna Polous, her beloved nephews; Brendon Polous and Cole Polous; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.
A special thank you is extended to her very best friend, Vanessa Dekovic, for all she has done for Terri—and for me—through this journey. Additionally, heartfelt thanks go to her great Aunts; Evelyn Carroll and Debbie Shiver, her cousins; Carrie Carroll, Anita Westberry and Patty Ward for assisting with her care and puppies; your love and support meant so much.
Terri is now rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with her mother and other loved ones who went before her. Her absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of her family, but her memory will live on forever.
