Terrence (Terry) Carl Sumner, age 68, of Crawfordville, Florida went home to be with the Lord April 10th, 2025. He was born June 15th, 1956 in Quincy, Florida to Clyde Carl Jr. and Betty Joan Sumner. Terry was a native of Florida and retired from a 40-year career in information technology.
Terry was a 1974 graduate of Rickards High School in Tallahassee and attended El Paso Community College. He married the love of his life and best friend, Nancy. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and music. He played multiple musical instruments including piano, string base in All-State Jazz Band, tuba and guitar. He was quick-witted, optimistic, compassionate, and developed a strong relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Crawfordville.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Randall and Mark Sumner. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Crowell Sumner; daughter Kate Jones (Jesse) of Altha; son Kyle Sumner (Dixie) of Crawfordville; sister Monty Sumner McCullough (Howard) of West Virginia; sister in laws Lori Sumner of Tallahassee, Mary Crowell Mills (David) of Beachton, Georgia, Alice Crowell Shannon (Virgil) of Lewis, Florida; grandchildren, Christy Jones, Cayden Jones, Dawson Sumner and Wyatt Sumner; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, his church family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held April 14th, 12 PM EST at Lake Mystic Baptist Church with Reverend Bert Matlock of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held at Lake Mystic Church at 11 AM EST. Interment will follow at Lake Mystic Cemetery.
