Shawn David Whigham, 54, of Quincy, Florida, passed away at home August 20, 2025 after a hard-fought, courageous battle with cancer.
Shawn was born in Thomasville, Georgia to James David Whigham and Janice Brock Furr.
Shawn worked for Phoenix South Management for the past 20 years and loved the work he did there; he considered the owners and his co-workers as family. An electrician by trade, there was nothing he could not do or fix.
Shawn loved spending time with family, friends and pets.
Shawn is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kimberly Phillips Whigham of Quincy, Florida, his two sons, Kaleb Whigham of Quincy and Joseph Whigham of Tallahassee Florida, his mother and stepfather, Janice and Lamar Furr of Tallahassee and one granddaughter Elizabeth Sellers of Quincy. He is survived by his brother, Jarin Whigham (Lyndsey) of Atlanta, Georgia, Monica Lambert (Brian) of Tampa, and Tiffany Whigham of Brunswick, GA as well as his mother-in-law, Ruth Phillips of Quincy, along with many nieces and nephews..
He is predeceased by his father James (Jimmy) Whigham, his father-in-law Bobby Phillips, and Grandparents J.G Brock, Merlene Brock and Agnes Whigham.
Visitation is Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, FL.
