Obituary for Sarah
Sarah Frances Brown Dunn was born March 15,1944 in Chipley, Florida. She passed away peacefully on Jan13, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kimbrel Brown and Essie Parrish Brown, as well as her sisters Brenda Brown and Diane Brown Haber, and brothers Robert L. (Rob) Brown and Leonard (Bo) Brown.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, MacArthur Dunn, Sr., brothers Kimbrel (Mercia) Brown and Danny (Candi) Brown, her children MacArthur Dunn, Jr (Faith), Thomas Dunn (Melissa), William “Newt” Dunn (Donna) and Robert Dunn.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren who knew her as Maw; Joseph, Christy, Mackayla, Maggie, Riley and Darby. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jersey, Marley, J.C., Archer, Valerie and Maddox, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Sarah graduated from Quincy High School in 1962. She was veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Tallahassee Community College. She was a proud member of the Talquin Hookers Bass Club and was retired from the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners. Sarah loved to fish almost as much as she loved her family.
The service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Quincy. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy.
