Obituary for Ruby Brooks
Mrs. Ruby Brooks of Quincy, Florida, passed away August 27, 2015. She was born December 5, 1927, in Carrabelle, Florida, where she grew up. She and her husband moved to Quincy in 1950. Known as "Miss Ruby", she was loved by the community. Most people knew her through her work at Dooner, Fletcher, & Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Littleton Brooks, and a daughter, Mary Jacqueline. She is survived by a son, Stanley Woods (Becky) Brooks, a daughter, Angelia (Parker) Davis and grandchildren Stephen Gauss, Barry Davis, Melody Donaldson, Brooks Davis, Sarah Reagan, Rachel Brooks, and Zachary Brooks. Her great grandchildren include Emma Reagan, Coleman Reagan, Chance Donaldson, Alexandria Donaldson, Jacob Davis, and Margaret Blumenthal. Mrs. Brooks is also survived by two brothers, Fred Phillips Jetton of Carrabelle and Jennings Woods Jetton of Quincy, as well as a sister, Rebecca Jetton of Tallahassee. Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Washington Chapter #43, Order of the Eastern Star as well as First Baptist Church. Services will be held Monday, August 31, at 11:00 am at First Baptist. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am prior to the services. Donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or a charity of choice. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, 15 S.
