Obituary for Roy Lee Moore
Roy Lee Moore, age 74, of Blountstown, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in Blountstown. Roy was born in Blountstown, Florida, to the late Mary Barfield Moore and LeRoy Moore. Roy was a lifelong resident of Blountstown and grew up in the logging industry, working alongside his father from an early age. Roy became an experienced truck driver and heavy equipment operator and retired from the Calhoun County Road Department. Roy enjoyed his retirement doing what he loved best, spending time outdoors, tinkering, and caring for his animals. Roy was a beloved father and husband who spent his life working hard and providing for his family.
Roy Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Moore of Blountstown and LeRoy Moore of Blountstown. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janice Moore, and his daughters, Mary Sue Moore (Chase) McClellan of Frink, Florida, and Barbara Ann (Jason) Bodiford of Altha, Florida.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM (CST) at Magnolia Baptist Church in Blountstown, Florida, with interment following at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery with Jo Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
