Obituary for Rodney Coe Hosford
Rodney Coe Hosford, 71, died Wednesday April 15, 2015 after a brief illness. Rodney was born August 31, 1943, in Quincy FL. to Wesley Coe Hosford and Joyce Summers Hosford. A published author, Certified Public Accountant, and Professional Headhunter, for the past fifteen years, Rodney was employed as an Executive Recruiter with Management Recruiters Inc. of Tallahassee. Among his many interests, Rodney enjoyed all Florida Gator sporting events, weekly golf outings with family and friends, and had a life-long love for sports cars, in particular, Corvettes. Rodney received his early education in the public schools of Liberty County, Florida. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, receiving Advanced Artillery Training, and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his military service, he attended Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas, and received a BS degree in Accounting. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Coe Hosford. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Summers Hosford, Hosford, Florida; two daughters, Brandie Hosford Hunter, Tallahassee, and Tiffany Hosford Hand, Topeka, Kansas, and five grandchildren; a sister, Kitte Hosford Carter (James E. Carter); five nieces and nephews, Peggy Carter Claborn (Joe Claborn), Sundae Minton McMillan (Craig McMillan), Tallahassee, Michael E. Carter (Tina), Montgomery, Alabama, James W. Carter, Tallahassee, and Robert B. Carter, Charleston, South Carolina. Additionally, Rodney is survived by numerous cousins, longtime friends, and professional colleagues. Memorial services will be held, Saturday April 18, 2015, at the Wesleyan Community Center, Hosford, FL. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Immediately following, friends and family are invited to attend a reception at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Wesley Coe and Joyce Summers Hosford Family Lot, Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hosford/Telogia, FL. Memorial contributions may be made be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL. 32308. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, 15 S.
