Robert “Bobby” Key, 87, of Chattahoochee, Florida, passed away on October 25, 2024. Born on June 4, 1937, to William and Myrtle Key, Bobby grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, where he enlisted in the Army. After his military service, he embarked on a law enforcement career at the age of 22, serving in various roles until 2002. He worked with several agencies, including the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, and concluded his career as a chaplain for the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department.
At 34, Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, feeling called to share the gospel with everyone he met. He often said, “If God could save ME, He can save anyone,” and he remained dedicated to this mission until his passing.
Bobby is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 26 years, Juanita Key, and four sons Juan, Keith, William and Bryon Key. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 10:00 AM CST at Sneads Assembly of God, located at 2262 River Road in Sneads, Florida. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
