Obituary for Robert Jefferson Metcalf
Robert Jefferson Metcalf, 73, of Havana, FL, passed away on March 3, 2023, after a brief illness. He was home surrounded by his family.
He was born to Ernest Jefferson Metcalf and Helen Louise Revell Metcalf on December 15, 1949, in Tallahassee, FL. Robert met his wife of 47 years, Starr Hodsdon, in 1976 and they were married the following year.
Robert lived a full life often enjoying fishing, bird hunting with his beloved dog Callie, and working on construction projects. He retired in 2013 after a career as a deputy, general contractor and a building inspector/official for Leon County Schoolboard.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ernestine Mayo. He is survived by his wife, Starr, his children, Angel Metcalf and Eric Metcalf; his granddaughter, Gabriella; and his sister Debbie Metcalf.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the West Sopchoppy Cemetery, Sopchoppy, FL . Family and friends are invited.
