Robert Clyde Flournoy
Robert (Bobby) Clyde Flournoy of Quincy passed away on Thursday, January 18, at home.
Bobby was born in the Naval hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Milton Clyde and Anna Lao Flournoy on September 11, 1938.
He graduated from Milton High School and later joined the US Navy, assigned to the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier, where he served seven months in the Mediterranean. He also owned and operated the Idle Wilde Fishing Lodge at Lake Talquin for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading history books, and watching the birds in his yard.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Nancy Clark Flournoy, his sister, Adelaide Lockett of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Steve Flournoy (Annette) of Quincy; sister, Janice Maxwell (Walter) of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 3:00 pm, EST, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, Florida, with military honors by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 10 West King Street, Quincy, Florida, 32351, or to a charity of your choice.
Special appreciation is given to Kay Sailor, his devoted caretaker of seven years.
