Obituary for Rev. William R. Stephens, Jr
Rev. William R. Stephens, Jr., 80, passed away May 19, 2014, at his home in Greensboro, FL. He was born in Grand Ridge, FL. August 2, 1933. He was a graduate of Grand Ridge High School and served in the U. S. Army in Korea. He was later ordained as a pastor in the Assembly of God Faith and served as pastor at Mayo First Assembly of God Church, Jasper Assembly, Sneads Assembly Missions, and retired after many years at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Greensboro. He also served as an Evanglist. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Bethel Assembly of God Church with service on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. He was predeceased by his daughter, Renay Stephens Todd; parents, William Riley, Sr. and Ella Hamilton Stephens; brother, Miller Stephens; sisters, Myrtle Gibson, Myrtice Howell and Lola Drake. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Minnie Merle Neel Stephens; grandsons, Warren Keith (Martha) Todd and Kevin Dean (Cynthia) Todd; brothers, Joseph, Ervin and Doyle (Edna) Stephens and a sister, Mattie Lee Howell.
