Obituary for Ralph Waldo McGuffey, Jr
Ralph Waldo McGuffey, Jr., 78, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away December 4, 2021 in Tallahassee. He was born on October 30, 1943 to Ralph Waldo and Rebecca "Becky" Lee McGuffey, SR. He was a graduate of Leon High School in Tallahassee and served in the U. S. Army.
For many years he worked with his dad in McGuffey's Auto Salvage and Wrecker Service. His big love was dirt car racing, running under the big "9."
Service will be Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Tallahassee at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time, in the church. Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. In keeping with Waldo's wishes, the wreckers will leave Charles McClellan Funeral Home in Quincy, Florida at 11:00 AM and process to the church. After the service Waldo will be transported to the cemetery on a McGuffey's Rollback for interment.
He is survived by his children, Ralph Waldo McGuffey, III and Kevin (Heather) McGuffey of Tallahassee; his mother, Becky McGuffey of Havana; sisters, Becky Currie of Scotland, FL and Karen Nichols of Tallahassee; a brother, Edward McGuffey of Donalsonville, GA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his former wife and the mother of his sons, Patricia Boykin of Tallahassee. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Waldo McGuffey, SR.
