Obituary for Pearl Edwards Braswell
Reverend Pearl Edwards Braswell, 93, passed away May 5, 2016 in Blountstown Florida.
Visitation will be at 1:00PM, Monday, May 9, 2016, at Bethel Assembly of God Church, located at 1882 Pine Grove Church Rd., Quincy, FL 32351. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00PM at Bethel Assembly. Interment will be at the Bethel Assembly of God Cemetery.
Reverend Braswell was born in the Sycamore community in Gadsden County Florida on March 28, 1923, to parents James and Amanda Shepard. She was licensed to preach by the Fellowship of the Assemblies of God, in 1946, and achieved ordination by the Assemblies of God in 1949. During her ministry, she pastored several area churches, and retired in 2011 due to illness. At the time of her retirement, she was pastoring Hardaway Assembly of God, Chattachoochee Florida, where she pastored for 35 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Holland (husband Lamar), sons, Andrew Edwards (wife Vivian) and Jim Edwards (wife Alice), grandchildren, Kim Rudd, Brent Holland, Nicole Murphy, Hope Gelabert, Darren Branch and Tyler Griffen, five great grand children, and four great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ules Edwards, Clarence Edwards, and Charlie Braswell, parents, James and Amanda Shepard, brothers, Loxie, Odie, and James Shepard, sisters, Gladys Edwards, Myrtle Todd, Catherine Parrish, Oleta Edwards, and Lettie Shepard.
