Obituary for Opal White Brown
OPAL WHITE BROWN HOSFORD - Opal White Brown, 80, passed away on July 26, 2015. Opal was a lifelong resident of Hosford, Florida. After attending public school in Liberty County, she worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Quincy, which prepared her for employment with the State Insurance Commissioner's Office in Tallahassee. She went on to a career with the Florida Senate, retiring in 1993. Opal was an avid outdoors woman, community activist, member of Telogia Baptist Church, and a dear friend to many throughout Liberty County. She was preceded in death by parents Stella and Leon White; siblings Ellie Mae Kever, Paul White, and Edna Stanley Revell. Opal is survived by a husband of 64 years, Pete Brown; her children, Larry and Debbie Brown and Loretta and Jimmy Kingry; siblings Nellie Faye and Farris Burke, Bill White, and Dot and Bill Joyce. Opal will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Chaff Hinson, Jason and Jake Kingry, Monica Guy, and Michael Richter, great grandson Monroe Hinson, and great grandchildren Brayden and Maddie Grace Richter, Sophie and Hudson Guy, Darius Hinson, and Jada Kingry, along with a host of nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for many caregivers over the past few years, including special friend Pam Johnson. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Telogia Baptist Church on State Road 65 in Telogia, Florida. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
