Obituary for Nordice Sheffield Russell

It is with great sadness that the family of Nordice Sheffield Russell, 93, announce her passing on November 16, 2023. Born August 14, 1930 to Ruth and J William Sheffield of Trenton, FL, moving to Quincy at 8 years old. Her husband of 71 years, Richard L. (Dick) Russell proceeded her in death.

Nordice is survived by her sons, Rick Russell (Linda), AL Russell (MaryAnne), Charles Russell (Debra) and her Grandchildren: Megan Scileppi (Dominick), Amanda Himmel (Michael), Lindsey Barnhart (Roger), Chase Russell and Jackson Russell. Four great-grandchildren Amelia, Russell, Pearl and Palmer. Including many special nieces, nephews and a special sister-in law, Betsy, all of whom she loved dearly.

Nordice retired from the Gadsdsen County School System, devoting her time to the First Baptist Church, and was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Additionally, she was very active with her Sunday School Class enjoying her many friends there.

Nordice and Dick were AVID enthusiastic Florida State University Fans, watching and attending many games. Nordice also enjoyed her time spent with her Bridge Club and Bunco friends.

The service will be at First Baptist Church of Quincy, FL., Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Quincy, FL.

Nordice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to us all.  She will surely be missed by all.
