Noah Eugene Allen, 95, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, a respected businessman, NoaChristian and a true southern gentleman.
Mr. Allen was born in Graceville, Florida to William and Jewel Allen in 1927. In 1945 he moved to Quincy where he met and married Mary Jane Goodson. They were married for 52 years until her death in 1998. Together they raised two children and built two successful shoe and clothing stores which remained open for over 40 years. He loved his work and often commented that his work was his hobby. He reluctantly “officially” retired at the age of 88. However, he continued assisting his wife Kathy, in managing her businesses until earlier this year.
Mr. Allen is pre-deceased by his wife, Mary Jane Allen and his son, Michael Allen. He is survived by his wife Kathy Allen, his daughter Judy Wray (Chuck), grandchildren, Charity Aselton (Tim), Susan Wellman (Andrew), Sarah Erb (Jeff), Jeremy, Emily and Annie Wray; daughter-in-law, Hilda Allen; great grandchildren, Drew and Matt McCardle, Clayton Aselton, Claire, Megan and Wyatt Wellman, Iryss and Archer Willingham, Mya and Melina Wray.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 PM at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church.
Anyone wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers may do so to Thomas Memorial Baptist Church or Big Bend Hospice.
