Obituary for Mary Ella Beverett Forehand
Mary Ella Beverett Forehand passed away on June 18, 2023, in Tallahassee, FL, just weeks shy of her 101st birthday.
She was born July 19, 1922, in Dale County, AL, to Jesse Alexander Beverett and Tempie Candace Kirkland Beverett. She married Rannie Wendell Forehand on June 10, 1942, and the couple lived briefly in Chipley, FL, before moving to Havana, FL. The couple had five children.
Mary’s hobbies included cooking and gardening. She was an excellent cook and often made special dishes for church activities and other events. She was a member the Havana Baptist Church and a member of the Fort San Luis Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved being around people and spending time with her friends, children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rannie, her son William Doyle, her sister Alma, and four brothers Dewey, Talmadge, Hubert and John. She is survived by her children Tracy (Laura), Bonnell, Keith (Dana), and daughter Lindy (Richard) Vickers. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tracy Forehand, Jr., Rannie Melvin, Justin Dean (Rhea) and Kathryn Shonell (Robert Reams); nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mary will always be remembered and will be deeply missed.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Havana, FL, on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:30 until service time at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. All friends and family are invited.
