Obituary for Mark McKinley Sumner
Mark McKinley Sumner died peacefully in his sleep at his home Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Mark was born in Tallahassee, Florida to Clyde Carl Sumner, Jr. and Betty Joan (Moody) Sumner. He was the youngest of four children. Mark was well-known in the community with the company he started and ran for many years, Journeyman Plumbing. Mark was such a funny, generous man, the world is a little dimmer with his passing. Mark was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Randall. Mark leaves behind one daughter, Emily Sumner Zuniga (Michael) two grandsons, Cameron and Gabriel, and one granddaughter, Roxanne, and a devoted friend, Kathie McKenzie. Other loving family he leaves are his brother, Terry (Nancy), sister, Monty (Howard) and sister-in-law, Lori, as well as nieces and nephews and long time family friend, Sheila Zapp.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 6-8 pm at the Timberlane Church of Christ at 3569 Timberlane School Rd. in Tallahassee, FL.
His memorial service will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 10 am at the Lake Mystic Baptist Church at 15292 NW County Road 12, Bristol, FL. Interment will follow at Lake Mystic Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
