Obituary for Margaret Johnson Estes
Margaret (Maggi) Eloise Johnson Estes, age 91 passed away peacefully at her home in Sycamore, FL on Sunday, July 30th, 2023.
Her four sons, Will, Jim, John and Kerry were at her bedside at the time of her passing.
Maggi was born on April 20th, 1932 in Fort Myers, FL to James and Dollie (Kirkland) Johnson.
Maggi cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her family.
Maggi was an avid gardener. She enjoyed reading, cooking and sharing her treasured family recipes.
Maggi held several jobs in her lifetime. A teacher in Arizona, a social worker in Florida and a cashier at the casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Maggi traveled extensively across the United States with her first husband, Bill due to his job. She also developed a passion for global traveling, which she did for as long as she was able.
Maggi is predeceased by her husband Marion (Mike) Estes, MD and her daughter Toni Stalker Peterson.
Maggi was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother. Maggi had one daughter, four sons, two brothers, eleven grandchildren, step and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Maggi (Maggi) will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
