Margaret Bodiford Ventry
Margaret Bodiford Ventry, 92, passed away peacefully in Quincy, Florida on Tuesday, June13, 2017.
She was born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 7, 1926. She was the daughter of Marcus LaSalle Bodiford and Maggie Moorer Bodiford. Her family moved from South Carolina, to Liberty County, Florida. Margaret later moved to Quincy and worked for the Budd Cigar Company and the A.L. Wilson Company. She then moved to Tallahassee and worked for the State of Florida, until she retired. She was a lifelong fan of bluegrass music and traveled with her husband to many bluegrass festivals.
She is survived by her sons Billy (Linda) of Quincy and Bobby (Shannon) of Branford; four grandsons, Frank (Rita) and Marc (Anna Jo) of Quincy, Jeremy (Debbie) of Birmingham, Alabama and Chris (Lisa) of Crawfordville; nine great-grandchildren; nieces Carolyn King (J.D.) and Barbara White (Billy) of Hosford. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo Ventry, her brother Bill Bodiford and son David Ventry.
Margaret will be buried next to her husband and son at Sanders Cemetery in Hosford. A memorial service will be held at a later date, which will be conducted by Bobby and Shannon Ventry.
