Obituary for Major Robert "Bob" J Lee
Major Robert “Bob” J. Lee, FMP (Ret), 77, passed away Nov. 12, 2020 in Tallahassee, FL. He was born in Panama City, FL to Ammie L. and Mamie Weston Lee August 18,1943. He married his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Johnson Lee in Panama City, FL May 29,1965. Major Lee graduated from Bay County High School, Class of 1961. He then joined the U S Navy where he served until 1964. While in the Navy he served in the Pacific Fleet aboard the USS Tortuga LSD 26. He attended Tallahassee Community College and Miami-Dade Jr. College where he completed the Criminal Justice Standards Program. He retired as a Major with the Florida Marine Patrol.
Bob was member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carrabelle, the St. Andrew Masonic Lodge 212, and was a member of the Shrine/Blue Lodge for 40 years. After his retirement, he and his partners, Allen Shiver and Gary Bebe, started “Three Cats Charters” doing recreational/commercial fishing for 20 years. He later spent two years as an oil boat captain in Louisiana and Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Ann Johnson Lee, two sons, James Russell Lee and his wife Terri and Robert Kevin Lee; two grandchildren, Cole (Kaley) Lee and Marilyn (Brice) Carlson; four great-grandchildren, Fisher and Tolar Lee and Bradee and Drake Carlson; a sister, Marilyn (Chuck) Myers, a brother Joe (Sandra) Lee, and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be his fellow FMP personnel. They are, Earl Whaley, Donald Smith, Frank McKamey, Mark Nobles, Woody Cook, Rod Gashe, Shelly Rowell, Tony Brunson, David Roberts, Eric Johnston and Stan Tucker.
Graveside service will be Sunday, November 15, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrabelle with Rev. Ron Barks officiating and Military Honors by the United States Navy
