Obituary for Lucille Madaris Griffiss
Tallahassee - Lucille Madaris Griffiss, 88, passed away September 30, 2015, in Quincy, FL. She was born January 9, 1927, in Griffin, GA, to John and Sybil Morgan Madaris. She ran the Thrift Store in Quincy for many years and later worked at Publix and the State of Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Sybil Griffiss of Tallahassee and sons, Screven B. Griffiss, Jr., of Tallahassee and Gene Griffiss of Quincy. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and a sister, Vera Bennett of Hampton, GA. She was predeceased by her husband, Screven B. Griffiss, Sr, and her parents. Service will be Friday, October 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at the graveside at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Tallahassee. Family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL, (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
