Obituary for Lois Davis Lee
Lois Elva Davis Lee, 100, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Tallahassee, FL. She was born in Cairo, Grady County, GA on March 2, 1918, to Joseph Jefferson Davis, Jr. and Mettie Lee VanLandingham Davis.

Lois married Pierce F. Lee in 1937, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1970. When they moved to Quincy she started attending the First Baptist Church and remained a member her entire life. She worked for the Quincy Telephone Company and retired after 32 years of service.

Lois was active in her church, First Baptist Church of Quincy, her Sunday School class, and WOMA. She enjoyed doing volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and in her 90's she volunteered to drive Senior Citizens to appointments. She loved her family, friends, and cats, especially Zoe and Mattie Mae.

She is survived by two daughters: Betty Lee Hawkins (James Lamar) of Quincy, FL and Martha Lee Coley of Chattahoochee, FL; grandsons, Cliff Loughmiller (Lori) of Tallahassee, FL, Tim Loughmiller, Sr. of Havana, FL, Jimmy Hawkins of Panama City, FL, John Haire (Brenda) of Charleston, SC and granddaughter, Brandy Straughn (Cliff) of Chattahoochee, FL; great grandsons,Tim Loughmiller, Jr., Lance Loughmiller, J. L. Hawkins, Jake Haire, Grant Hawkins, Ben Davis Straughn; great granddaughters, Katie Loughmiller, Lindsey Lee, Lily Haire, Emilee Straughn, Ella Grace Straughn, and great great grandson, Landon Severance; extended family, William Coley, Jennifer Loughmiller, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters.

The family will receive friends at her viewing on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church Chapel of Quincy, FL at 2:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Pastor Jeff Jackson, First Baptist Church, Quincy, FL and Pastor Michael Murray, First Baptist Church, Sneads, FL will officiate.

Mother set the example to love unconditionally and found good in everyone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gadsden County Humane Society or Big Bend Hospice.
