Obituary for Lillie Kay Greenwald Cloud

Lillie Katherine Cloud (Greenwald) passed away on July 23, 2023, she was 79 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Dauer (Doug), Niceville FL; Grandson, Seth Dauer (Carli), Great Grandsons, Alexander and Samuel Dauer, Greenville, SC; Granddaughter Katii Dauer, Henderson NV; Brother, Wes Greenwald (Judy), Quincy FL; Uncle Frank “Butch” Eckhardt (Bonnie), La Salle CO; Sister-in-Law Celia Newberry (SE), Brother-in-Law Michael Cloud (Joy), all of Tallahassee; she also left behind her beloved dogs Perry and Wacissa.

She is predeceased by her husband Flake C. Cloud, parents Dave and Ruth Greenwald, Sister Sandy Greenwald, grandparents Jacob & Katherine Greenwald, Frank & Lillie Eckhardt.

Lillie Kay was a lifelong Educator, she never lost her curiosity about the world around her. She was a very independent woman, who achieved three Master’s Degrees, in Chemistry, Biology and an Administration Degree in Education. She taught Chemistry for many years at Boca Ciega HS, St. Petersburg, FL, Orange Park Jr. HS, and ended her career as a Guidance Counselor at Wakulla HS.

Lillie Kay enjoyed many passions, but she especially enjoyed FSU football and golf, which she played until she suffered a shoulder injury. In her retirement years she loved to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Alzheimer’s Respite Care, as a Board Member for Big Bend Hospice and reading to the residents of the River Chase Assisted Living Facility. Lillie Kay was always ready for a good time with her beautiful smile and her signature laugh. I want to thank everyone who helped us along this path, we were blessed to you in our lives.

A memorial service will be held at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 206 North Madison Street, Quincy, FL. on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Services include Visitation in the Parlor at 2:00, the Celebration of Life in the Sanctuary at 3:00 and refreshments to follow in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to an animal rescue of your choice or to the Big Bend Hospice.

Charles McClellan Funeral Home, 15 S. Jackson St., Quincy, FL., is in charge of arrangements.
