Lillie Belle Sykes service has been moved to the Chapel of First Baptist Church Quincy.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Belle Sykes of Quincy Florida, on Thursday March 6th, 2025, at the age of 103. Belle was born in Reno, Georgia on June 2nd, 1921. After graduating from Leon High School in Tallahassee, Belle married the love of her life, Watson Sykes in 1946. They went on to have two children, Kay Sykes (Siemon) and Wendy Sykes. Belle worked in the family grocery store, Sykes Fine Foods, for over 60 years alongside her husband. She was an active preschool Sunday School teacher at First Baptist in Quincy for 50 years. Belle was known for her kind heart, her abounding faith, and her charitable nature. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Belle is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Watson Sykes.
She is survived by her daughter Kay Siemon (Robbie); son, Wendy Sykes (Amy); brother, Clyde Lee of Tallahassee; grandchildren Blake Siemon, Jennifer Reilly (Dean), Scott Siemon (Tamara); and her great grandchildren Gabby Siemon and Patrick Siemon.
Graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy on March 15th, 2025 at 11:00 am. McClellan Funeral Home in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.
