Katie Lou Mills Chester QUINCY - Katie Lou Mills Chester, 86, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015. She was born August 17, 1929 in Hosford, Florida to Henry Jack and Minnie Norris Mills. She loved the Lord and her family and raised her sons in a Christian home. Blessed with a beautiful voice she sang gospel with her brother Earl at many churches in the local area. Shortly after WWII she met her husband of 59 years, Willis M. Chester at a church sing in Hosford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis M. Chester and oldest son, Wayne Chester. Survivors include one son, Winston Chester and wife Gail of Southport, FL; daughter-in-law, Sue Chester; four grandchildren, Wendy Woodrick (Walter), Amy Jordan (Greg), Chip Chester (Jill), Matthew Chester (Lanet); nine great-grandchildren, Whitney, Ashley and Mason Woodrick, Hunter and Tucker Jordan, Maddie and Mackenzie Chester, Sara-Kate and Dylan Chester. The service will be held at 2:00 PM EDT, Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Greensboro, FL, with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Chip Chester, Matthew Chester, Larry Furr, Greg Jordan, Hunter Jordan and Tucker Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be R.C. Mills, Bobby Mills, Willis Hinton and Jaime Cook. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
