Obituary for June C. Phillips
Ms. June C. Phillips, aged 77, of Havana, Florida died peacefully at her home on September 6, 2021.
She was born June 13, 1944 in Echols County, Georgia, and was the youngest child of Walter and Lorene (nee Tomlinson) Phillips.
She is survived by a son, Gene, daughter Sheila, and two granddaughters Charlotte and Jessica.
“June-Bug” loved hearing the whip-poor-will’s call and the hummingbirds’ hum, feeding her birds and squirrels, and watching the beauty and mysteries of nature unfold. She worked at Higdon Grocery Company and later at Gadsden Correction Facility where she made cherished, lifelong friends. She dearly loved her family, and they dearly loved her.
A private memorial service is planned for September 11, 2021 at 11 a.m.
