Obituary for Joyce Vanlandingham Roach
Joyce VanLandingham Roach, 89, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018, at theMargaret Z. Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL. She was born in Juniper, FL on November 18, 1929 to C. T. and Jimmie M. Vanlandingham. Attending Greensboro High School, she graduated in 1947. After High School she returned there to work and soon met the love of her life. She married Joseph H. Roach on January 7, 1952, who at the time was serving in the U. S. Navy. During the early years of their marriage they traveled and lived in various places where Joseph was stationed. After his retirement they settled in Greensboro, FL. She later went to work for Citizen’s Bank in Quincy, FL and retired as it became First Florida Bank. She was a member of the Quincy Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Quincy, FL.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Amy L. Roach, Tallahassee, Fl,, her son, Charles Alan Roach, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, her niece, Lynne Layton Poucher (Charles), Great Niece, Amber Poucher Rabon and Great Nephew, T. J. Rabon, all of Juniper, FL, and her Niece, Martha McPherson Gheradi of St. George Island.
Her extended family are Brenda L. Hand (Bill) of Tallahassee, FL and two special Granddaughters, Marilyn Edmond, Korea and Takeia Davis, Tallahassee, FL, and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Charles McClellan Funeral Home. The service will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 11:00 AM, from the Graveside at Sycamore Cemetery.
