Johnny Wayne Yawn, Sr. passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, after an extended illness at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. Johnny was born in Columbus, Georgia to Jack William Yawn and Willie Juanita Brogdon. Johnny is survived by his wife, Joanna Clark Yawn, his daughter, Pamela Mullet (Troy) of Sneads, FL, sons, Brett Yawn (Danielle) and Johnny Yawn, Jr. (Sharron), of Chattahoochee, Fl, Sean Yawn (Addrianna) of Cottondale, Fl, Heath Yawn of Tallahassee, FL, grandchildren, Gabrielle and Oceana Mullet, Maria Yawn, Kadence Yawn, Amelia, and Hunter Yawn, and a sister, Joyce Waldrop (Willard).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Jeffery Yawn, sisters, Carolyn, Linda and a brother, Shorty.
Mr. Yawn served his country in the Army and Army Reserve from 1976 until 1982. During his stint in the Army, he was a metal worker and auto body repairman. After returning home, Mr. Yawn learned the skill of laying tile and the tile trade. Mr. Yawn was self-employed as a tile layer and has laid tile across the U.S. He spent 54 years in business laying tile, marble, granite, etc., and teaching many others the art of laying tile.
Johnny loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling with his sons. He also loved his Lord!
