John Durwood Headley, Jr. 71, was born in Selma, Alabama, a long-time resident of Theodore, Alabama, and a recent resident of Quincy Florida, passed away July 12, 2024.
He was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Theodore for many years. He also served as Scoutmaster to young men. Mr. Headley was the president of FL-AL Toy Breeds Club for eight years and helped organize numerous dog shows for the Club.
Mr. Headley is survived by his wife of 49 years Jean Batson Headley, his sons James and Patrick Headley of Mobile, Alabama, and one grandson Bryson. He is also survived by two sisters Connie Melvin (Wally) and Valerie Burkett (David) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and sisters-in-law Nancy Connolly (Wylie) of Panama City, Florida and Suzanne Ownbey of Quincy, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church at a later date.
