Jessie Lee Ulmer Joyner Obituary: It is with great sadness that the family of Jessie Lee Ulmer Joyner, announces her passing on Monday, January 12, 2015. Jessie Lee, of Quincy, FL, passed away at the age of 90 at Riverchase Care Center, Quincy, FL. Jessie Lee was born on February 4, 1924 to the late Seabron and Essie Ulmer. She is survived by her 3 sons, Otto (Bubba) Joyner, Jr., Rodney Joyner (Sandy) and Wesley Joyner (Marilyn) one daughter, Lisa Joyner Weeks (Jimmy). Jessie Lee will be fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Shannon Joyner, Landon Joyner, Rod Joyner, Charla Joyner McDaniel, Kevin Joyner, Delia Joyner, Paul Rorie, Whitney Weeks VanLandingham, and Kendal Weeks. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Norine Ulmer, and many nieces and nephews. Jessie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Joyner, Sr. and one brother Samuel Franklin Ulmer. After many years of service, Jessie Lee retired from the Clerk of the Court, Gadsden County. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Quincy and also a member of the Washington Chapter #43, the order of The Eastern Star of Quincy for over 35 years. During that time, she held many offices and star points, her favorite star point being Electa. A Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service immediately following. A private burial will be held later that afternoon at Hillcrest Cemetery. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL is in charge of funeral arrangements. (850) 627-7677.
