Obituary for Jessica Lynn Whiddon
Jessica Lynn Whiddon, age 36, of Ponce De Leon, Florida, went to her eternal home on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was the baby daughter to Jeffery Whiddon and Carolyn Whiddon Galloway. Jessica was known for her beauty and her ability to fill an entire room with her laughter. Her signature red hair opened the door to a fiery personality. To know her was to love her. Her greatest pride and joy was being a mother to her three beautiful children, who will each carry a huge part of her with them. She had a passion for all things glam and she loved make-up. Her idea of fun was riding dirt roads, while singing old country songs. Jessica could enjoyed fishing, floating on the river, dancing or just relaxing watching her reality shows. She loved her late night talks with her babies, FaceTiming her sisters and nieces, and not to forget them unexpected road trips. She loved her kids, her family and not to forget her Georgia Bulldogs! Her love for caring for others is what lead her into the healthcare field. It brought her such great joy to bring a smile to her patients face and to provide them with such compassionate care. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Steve English, her grandpa, Joe Galloway, her stepfather, Keith Galloway, her uncle, Tim Whiddon, her cousin, Justin Newberry. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three children, who were her whole world, Alyvia Lumpkin, Westin Lumpkin, and Brantley Ellis all of Ponce de Leon; her three siblings, Crystal Manbeck and Steve of Lewistown PA, Heather Whiddon of Ponce de Leon, Josh Whiddon and Selenna of Quincy; her step-mother, Sue Whiddon of Quincy; maternal grandmother, Rachel English of Ponce de Leon; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Lucille Whiddon of Quincy; her aunts, Terri Whiddon of Quincy, Rhonda Whiddon Newberry and husband, Kenny, of Boone, NC, Maggie Danhardt and Steve of Dunedin, Florida, Sandy Carter and Steve of Youngstown, Florida; her uncles, Steve English of Genevia, Alabama, Steven Whiddon of Los Angeles, CA; her Nanna, Pat Galloway along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Jessica Whiddon will be conducted at 4:00 PM, EST, Thursday, at Calvary Baptist Church, Chattahoochee, Florida. Her grandfather Pastor Glenn Whiddon and Pastor Mark Moore will be officiating. Interment will follow at Red Fern Cemetery, 9724 Hosford Highway, Quincy. The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, EST, prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wells Fargo in Chipley, Florida for Jessica’s children’s trust.
