Jebb Wilkinson Munroe, 74, passed away on February 8, 2025, in Quincy, Florida.
Born on November 13, 1950 in Bainbridge, Georgia, the fourth child of Lee Ray Munroe II and his wife Sara, Jebb moved around a bit as a child before the family settled in Macon, Georgia. He attended RL Hope Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia and Lanier High School in Macon before beginning his studies at Georgia Tech which were interrupted by the Vietnam War Draft. Jebb proudly served as an Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. Afterwards, he moved to Tallahassee and resumed his studies at Florida State University where he was awarded a bachelor's degree in psychology. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Florida Department of Revenue until his retirement.
A man of faith, he was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Quincy, which he attended with his father and his two children. Jebb took to heart Jesus’s message of loving everybody.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love as a father. Jebb had an unmatched ability to connect with people—he never met a stranger and found friends wherever he went. His gift of storytelling brought joy to those around him, and he cherished time spent with his daughters, family, and friends.
Jebb is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Adelaide Munroe and Elise Marilyn Munroe; his former wife and mother of his children, Linda Lawrence Munroe; and his siblings, Linda Munroe Williams, Julia Claire Munroe, and Lee Ray Munroe III. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ray Munroe II and Sara Wilkinson Munroe.
