Janet (Jan) Lenora Sharpton Brandon, 67, passed away suddenly at her home in Pinetta – Madison Florida on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025. She was born on June 27, 1958 in Quincy, Florida to Bunyan Franklin and Hazel Sharpton.
She is survived by her loving husband William M. (Bill) Brandon Jr., daughter Rebekah Brooke Brandon Saphore, son in law Landon Charles Saphore, granddaughter Violet Alana Saphore, and brother Bunyan Randall Sharpton.
Mrs. Brandon was a graduate of Tallahassee Community College. She began her professional business career in the travel industry, then transitioned to a long banking career with Quincy State Bank, Capital City Bank, and Wells Fargo before retiring.
Outside of her career, Jan found her greatest joy in being a devoted spouse, mother, and grandmother. Her hobbies included line dancing, traveling with her mother, reading, writing, tending her garden, being a pen pal, and participating in post card exchange groups. She was an avid animal lover, especially for her cats though she held all of her pets close to her heart. Jan’s warmth and enthusiasm for her life’s pursuits touched everyone who knew her.
Remembrance of Janet will be held at First Baptist Church Chapel, 210 West Washington Street, Quincy, Fl at 2:00pm on Monday, December 8, 2025. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the service.
