Obituary for James F. (Jimmy) Faircloth
James Franklin Faircloth, Jr., “Jimmy,” a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 6, 2020, at his home in Woodville, Florida. He was born on June 23, 1944 in Boxey, Newfoundland, Canada, to James and Ella Faircloth.
Jimmy attended Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida, operated Jimmy’s Electric in Leon County while serving with the Leon County Sheriff’s Department Auxiliary for many years. He later served with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department for 27 years as an Investigator, Deputy, Chief Deputy, and Undersheriff, until his retirement. Jimmy also owned and operated several businesses, including Faircloth Hauling, K & D Tires and Wheels, and Jimmy’s House of Catfish. He was an expert marksman, experienced mechanic, truck driver, and CB operator affectionately known as “Road Hog.”
Jimmy was always willing to help his community and neighbors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and growing a garden.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy E. Faircloth, sons, Derrick Faircloth (Geri Lynn) and James Jones (Rachel Clemens); grandchildren, Cole, Camrynn, and Caysen Faircloth, and Alexis Jones; siblings, Barbara Faircloth Harless, Mary Walsh (Robert), Jane Valentin (Zeke), and Reggie Faircloth (Sharon, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ella Faircloth of Woodville, grandparents, Reginald and Lesa Skinner of Newfoundland, Benjamin Harris Faircloth of Florida, and Cecil Ritter of Georgia.
Service will be held at Telogia Baptist Church, Telogia, Florida on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM until time of service. A private burial service, for immediate family only, will be held immediately after the church service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Telogia Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice.
