Obituary for James Edward Beasley, Jr

On January 27,2024 James Beasley better known as Papa Jim, went home to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Beasley, his mother Agnes Faircloth, father, James Beasley, brother, Roger Beasley, stepfather, Willie G Faircloth and son Brian Beasley. He is survived by his grandchildren Ashley Rogers (Chris) of Sycamore, Travis Beasley (Ashley) of Tallahassee, Haley Beasley of Hosford and Tyler Beasley of Sycamore. Great grandchildren Brayson and Della Rogers and Wyatt and Madison Beasley. A niece, Donna Ellis (Zavaughn) and Erika Smith (Patrick) and his sister in law, Rita Beasley. Along with special close friends that were more like family, Pam Kelley and Josh Smith (Amanda and Colton) as well as a host of family and friends that were more like family. Papa will forever be remembered by his secret candy stash, trips to Tyndall and his famous “short cuts” when driving. James served in United States Air Force for 24 years. He served his country proudly in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. After retiring from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, James worked with DOT for 10 years before finally retiring to spend time with his grandkids. He loved playing with his great grandkids and had sweet tooth like no other. He will forever be known to everyone as Papa Jim.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Sycamore Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the graveside from 10:00 - 11:00 AM
