Obituary for James Ellis Shepard
James Ellis Shepard, 75, passed away March 28, 2016 in Tallahassee. He was born in Sycamore, FL, Dec. 9, 1940 to James H. (Bud) and Adell Miley Shepard. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Correctional Officer with the Florida Dept. of Corrections.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Velma Dickey Shepard; son, Roger (Donna) Shepard of Sycamore; daughters, Laura (Stephen) Shaffer of Kingston Springs, TN, Becky Bernal of Sycamore and Kari Rodriguez of Palmer, Alaska; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Yvonne (Jimmy) Hindman of Sycamore. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Shepard.
