Obituary for Jack B. "Red" Goodson
Jack B. “Red” Goodson, 85 passed away November 30, 2016 from a long illness. Jack was born April 26, 1931 to the late Jack B. Goodson, Sr. and to the late Shelly Goodson Phillips.
Jack is survived by his wife Geneva Greene Goodson, daughters Robbie Berzman (Lee), Robinette Dunning (Brad), Jackie Gerber and Gigi Schaum (Jeff). Additionally, grandchildren Michael Gerson (Jessica), Spencer Avant (Chase), Garrett Gerber, Mitchell Gerson, Mallory Johnson (Andy), Grace Rooijakkers (Willem), Austin Gerber and great grandson Easton Gerson. Jack is also survived by his sister Dorothy Phillips Faircloth (Billy), brothers Larry Phillips and Billy Kerfoot, brother-in-law Broward Greene (Georgia), nieces Norma Greene Shotwell (Gary), Michele Faircloth and nephew Brevard Greene (Anna).
A very special thank you to his devoted caregivers Vanessa Trueblood and Lonnie Taylor, whose care and comfort extended to the Goodson family is greatly appreciated.
A longtime resident of Quincy, Jack proudly served his country in the National Guard and retired from Higdon Grocery Co. as Director of the Non-Foods Division.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2,2016 at 10:00am, followed by the service at 11:00am at Rock Bluff Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Rock Bluff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.
