Homer Junior Ellis, 77, of Quincy, Florida passed away at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center located in Marianna, Florida on December 30, 2025. Homer was born on February 21, 1948, in Attapulgus, Georgia to William "Son" and Niza (Glass) Ellis and spent his childhood in Quincy. Homer was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army, 4th Infantry Division, Artillery in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
Homer worked for the Floridin Company and retired in 2009.
Homer is survived by three daughters, Christy Beard (Jerry) of Hosford ; Melinda Kaye "Sissy" Cupp (Johnny) of Quincy; Amanda Geathers (James) of Quincy; six grandchildren, Michael Beard, Joey Cupp (Kallee), Amber Geathers Jones (Daveon), JJ Geathers, Daja Geathers and Darius Geathers; and expecting his first great grandbaby, in February 2026, Aubrey Faye Jones; and a sister Mary Bruce, of Crawfordville, Florida. Also, a vast amount of nieces and nephews.
Homer was preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters, Joanne Hancock and Sue Roland; brothers, Glenn, Thomas and Jim Ellis.
Services will be held at Charles McClellan Funeral Home 15 S. Jackson St, Quincy, Florida on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
