Obituary for Geraldine Wood
Geraldine Wood, 80, passed away June 12, 2022, after a valiant fight with cancer in Tallahassee, FL. A graveside memorial service will be held at Vickers Cemetery in Havana, FL., on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
She was born July 23, 1941, in Jackson County Florida to Gerald and Rossie Fears. Valedictorian of her class at Greenwood High School, she went to Business college in Jacksonville and married Bruce Wood of Concord, FL in 1962. She held several jobs including working at the FBI in Washington, DC, teaching typing at Gadsden Christian Academy in Havana, FL, and serving as the office manager for A&A Electric in Tallahassee, FL. Her favorite jobs however were as a beloved mother and grandmother.
An avid reader, she enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the beautiful wildlife that would visit her Concord, FL home. Mrs. Wood is survived by her brothers, Randall and Roland Fears; 2 sons and their spouses, Victor and Miriam Wood, Steven and Shannon Wood; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Wood.
